Vitalis’ NSQHS-accredited Complex Care in the Home service allows people who may otherwise be hospital-bound for months and even years to return home. It gives patients with even the most complex needs the choice, in consultation with their treating specialist, to be cared for at home by a specialist team of skilled, highly trained and compassionate clinicians.

What help do you need?
We can deliver up to 24-hour core/carer supports for patients of all ages with complex medical needs, including cancer, spinal cord injury and brain injury, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s disease, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and dementia. We can provide:

Bed transfers and other transfers

Wound dressing; wound and pressure care supports

Medication management

Respiratory support (including tracheostomy care and ventilator care)

Nasogastric tube care and PEG tube care

Mobility support

Incontinence care management and assessment

Catheter and drain management

Colostomy care management

Enteral feeding management

Where does Vitalis provide Complex Care in the Home services?

How do I get Vitalis Complex Care in the Home services?
Your GP or hospital healthcare professional will be able to advise if you are medically able to be treated at home. They can then refer you to Vitalis. Our team will then confirm if we are able to support you.
What accreditations does Vitalis have?
Vitalis is one of only three hospital-at-home providers to be accredited to NSQHS standards. This means you can be assured of receiving hospital-standard care at home.
Are your nurses Vitalis employees?
Yes, every Vitalis staff member is a direct employee, not a subcontractor. This ensures quality of care and means you will never be in the position of having to directly pay our nurses.
How do I pay for Vitalis Complex Care in the Home?
Vitalis Complex Care in the Home services are generally covered by the NDIS. They can also be accessed on a user-pays basis. Please contact us for more information.
