What help do you need?
Vitalis Hospital in the Home services include:

IV antibiotic therapy (to treat cellulitis, community acquired pneumonia, COPD, urinary tract and other common infections).

IV therapies (to treat conditions like deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolisms and multiple sclerosis).

Complex wound management (including debridement).

Catheter care (including routine changes of suprapubic and indwelling catheters).

Blood collection (for pathology).

Post-operative drain care.

Stoma care.

Total parenteral nutrition management.

Hospital in the Home (HITH) is a proven, clinically effective alternative to a prolonged hospital stay. It allows medically eligible patients to receive hospital-standard treatment in the comfort and familiarity of their own home.
What services are provided by Vitalis Hospital in the Home?
Vitalis HITH provides a range of services, including:
- IV antibiotic therapy – to treat cellulitis, community acquired pneumonia, COPD, urinary tract and other common infections. Vitalis nurses can cannulate, or patients can be discharged with a PICC line in-situ
- IV therapies – to treat conditions like deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolisms and multiple sclerosis.
- Complex wound management – including debridement
- Catheter care – including routine changes of suprapubic and indwelling catheters
- Blood collection – for pathology
- Post-operative drain care
- Stoma care

How do I get Vitalis Hospital in the Home care?
Your GP or hospital healthcare professional will be able to advise if you are medically able to be treated at home. They can then refer you to Vitalis HITH. Our team will then confirm if we are able to support you.

What accreditations does Vitalis HITH have?
Vitalis is one of only three hospital-at-home providers to be accredited to NSQHS standards. This means you can be assured of receiving hospital-standard care at home.
Are your nurses Vitalis employees?
Yes, every Vitalis staff member is a direct employee, not a subcontractor. This ensures quality of care and means you will never be in the position of having to directly pay our nurses.
How do I pay for Vitalis HITH?
Vitalis Hospital in the Home is covered by many private health insurers, generally with no out-of-pocket expenses. Our HITH service can also be accessed on a user-pays basis. Please contact us for more information.
